I might be a bit late in the game when it comes to eliminating harmful chemical cleaners from our household – I finally took the leap and invested in Young Living Essential Oils last month and I’m HOOKED! My dear friend Devin wrote a guest post here on how to clean with essential oils and I decided to create some cleaners of my own and came up with an awesome chemical-free car wash Cleaning kit for Father’s Day with Free Printables… and I’m including the essential oils recipes so you can make a kit of your own! My favorite chemical-free cleaning products to use (other than essential oils) are from Norwex. I discovered Norwex while shopping at a home event right after we bought our house two years ago. We had these amazing hard-wood floors installed in our new house and I wasn’t sure what product I should use to clean them. After seeing a demonstration of the Norwex products, I decided to try the mop and cloths and they are now the only products I use to clean a majority of my home!
When I heard that Norwex had a car wash mitt, I knew it would be the perfect addition to create a chemical-free car wash kit. The Norwex window cloth has the best window cleaning results I’ve ever seen… so much that I haven’t used Windex in years! In fact, since I started using essential oils combined with Norwex, we don’t have a single toxic chemical cleaner in our home.

Carpet Fresh Powder Recipe:
- 1 Cup of Baking Soda
- 15 drops of Essential Oil of your choice
Stir soda and oil together. Place everything in a shaker bottle. I sealed the holes on mine with packing tape until it is ready to use. You can use this in the home as well 🙂
All-Purpose (Thieves) Cleaner Recipe:
- 16 oz of Distilled Water
- 16 drops of Thieves Essential oil
Shake for every use. Can be used in your home (on counters, floors, bathroom) or inside car (dash, doors, tires). I add lemon oil to my home all-purpose cleaner for a fresh scent.
~The free printable PDF includes:
- Bucket label (for either Dad or Grandpa)
- Bottle labels (All-Purpose Cleaner, Carpet Fresh, Window Cleaner)
- Car wash coupons (1 exterior & interior wash, 1 exterior only wash, 1 tire scrub)
- Blank labels/coupons (you can write in your own coupons or labels)
~Print labels on sticker paper or use double-sided tape to attach (I used double-sided tape on light-weight card stock and it worked out perfectly!).
~For the coupons: print, cut, hole punch one end and tie together with a ribbon.
