Want to make Mother’s Day extra special this year? Try this handmade Mother’s Day gift flower corsage keepsake! We’ve included a tutorial below along with a free flower template so you can make one for the women in your life in 5 easy steps! This project is also very kid friendly – moms love receiving handmade gifts from their children!
These would also look great for Prom – choose colors to match your Prom gown and place in a keepsake box. A paper flower corsage (stored correctly) will last for several years and can be used again. Making paper flowers is really easy once you get the hang of it. Try it out with our free flower template below!
To make a flower corsage you will need the following supplies:
- Cardstock (in your color choice for flowers and leaves)
- Glue
- Scissors
- Ribbon or pins
- Free template (free below)
1.Print the template (below) on your color choice of card stock and cut the flower template. We used our Cricut Explore to cut these quickly.
2. Lightly spray the paper with water (this will make it easier to curl the paper to desired shapes) and curl the paper to form shapes.
3. Glue the tabs together on each flower section and leaves and let dry.
Tip: I use clothes pin to hold ends together while they dry.
4. Add colorful edges (optional) using water colors or markers. Glue all petals and leaves together to form a flower and let dry.
5. If you are making a wrist corsage, cut desired ribbon length, adhere the finished flower to the ribbon (I added ribbon to my pin-on (chest) corsage).
If you are using pins, place one on the back of the flower for gift-giving. Wrap finished corsage in a cellophane bag or a keepsake box.
I found these keepsake boxes at the dollar store.
My daughter helped make one for me for Mother’s Day – I can’t wait to wear mine proudly!
This flower corsage is an easy, inexpensive way to give a beautiful, handmade gift to mom. Surprise her with this creative gift and make her day!
