One of my memories about Thanksgiving as a kid was creating fun crafts at home and in school. The most popular Thanksgiving craft DIY back then were Pilgrim and Native American Indian paper hats and headdresses. Did you make these as a kid? I even have a picture of me sitting with my twin brothers wearing our Pilgrim and American Indian paper outfits that we made in the first grade. It was fun to pretend and play dress up and the cost to make these Thanksgiving craft ideas was very cheap. Now that I have kids of my own, I wanted to help create some Thanksgiving craft memories for them, so I compiled this list with 15 Dollar Store Thanksgiving Crafts That Kids Can Make!

It’s so important to create memories that last. I also remember wearing paper Pilgrim hats! Thank you for such an affordable and simple craft round-up. I especially love the toilet paper roll turkey because it prompts kids to think a bit deeper about what we already have. I feel like that is so important during the holiday season. It’s so easy to get caught up in the shopping craze and forget what it’s all about!

Yes! Great thoughts 🙂
Thanks for the great ideas, Melanie! They are very valuable because these homemade crafts can be done with children not only for thanksgiving, but in general on any day, teaching children to work and be creative. I especially liked the DIY Fabric Pumpkins from Coastal Kelder. Your post inspired me so much that I decided to do it with my daughters next weekend.
Wonderful!
