We just welcomed the newest member of our family one week ago. His name is Rocky and he is an eleven week old Australian Shepard that was a rescue from a kill shelter. He is so sweet and precious and we have transitioned well to having him (so far). I am not a dog person by any means. I grew up with outdoor dogs and indoor/outdoor cats, but he is so sweet that you can’t help but fall in-love with those puppy eyes. We bought Rocky some small puppy bowls for food and water and found an old stool that we had in a “sell” pile in the basement that the hubby re-purposed to make this DIY Elevated Dog Bowl Feeder
I don’t have a before picture of the exact stool that he used (he painted it before I could take pictures), but this pink stool was very similar. The only difference was the one that the hubby used had a hidden compartment and was green with zoo animals on it (originally purchased from Home Goods).
I don’t have any pictures of the how-to process but you get the idea from these before and after pictures.
The hubby ended up taking the bottom step off and cutting the bowl holes into another piece of scrap wood and reattaching to the stool. Then he used black spray paint and I made a white vinyl that said “Rocky” with my Cricut Explore machine for the top drawer. I think I’m going to add a white paw print for the top as well. Here is a picture of the hidden compartment which we use for his toys.
