Our family has a tradition to leave Cookies and Milk for Santa (doesn’t every family that celebrates Christmas?). A few years ago, I decided to use my Cricut machine to make our own Cookies for Santa Plate and Mug Set. If you’ve seen a Cookies and Milk for Santa Set for sale, then you know they can cost around $19.99 or more! Why spend that much money when you can make a Cookies for Santa Plate and Mug for a couple bucks using Dollar Store supplies!

I made this personalized cookies for Santa plate using a plate from the Dollar Tree for $1 and a 12 x 12 sheet of red permanent vinyl for $0.97 (you do the math!). A DIY Cookies for Santa Plate is the way to go this Christmas!
I’m also including the Cookies for Santa and Milk for Santa SVG cut file for Free below so you can save even more money!
You’ll need a Cricut Explore or Silhouette cutting machine to make this project. Just upload the SVG, DXS, EPS, or PNG in the program you use (I use Cricut Design Space), size, cut, and apply!
How to make the
- Cricut Explore/Silhouette cutting machine
- Vinyl (I used this permanent Red vinyl)
- Contact paper
- White Dinner Plate
- White Mug
- Download the cut file and upload to Cricut Design Space.
- Edit as needed and size image accordingly. Mine was sized 8.9 x 1.12 for the Plate and 6.3 x 1.13 for the Mug. The dots were sized 0.67 x 0.67.
- Weed the cut image. I use my handy Cricut Bright Pad for easy Weeding 🙂
- Apply contact paper and adhere the cut image to the plate and mug.
Tips for washing: When using vinyl on items such as plates/mugs, I only hand-wash them and don’t use in the microwave. If you give these as gifts, make sure the recipient is aware of that 😉
